My Mission :: the 3 sister sacraments

Life sparkles when you are on the right track….

You know the feeling.

Doors open, clarity comes and you know exactly what to do next.

You’re in the flow.

Life sparkles…. for a moment, and you think to yourself, this is the way life is supposed to be.

So why do you feel so stuck and depressed so much of the time?

You wonder what’s wrong with you that you can’t do it right, this surrender thing, this manifestation thing?

Everyone else seems to have all the luck, blessings, favor…

You see how you’re supposed to be all around you. Especially on Facebook – You should smile more. You should express gratitude. You should forgive… etc.

Even if you don’t feel like it, you should find a way, get out of your victim mentality and just do it.

What if I told you that you don’t have to up-by-the-boot-stap it, that your depression, your grief, even your anger are all messengers whose signs you really don’t want to miss. Your whole self is needed for true authenticity.

It is my mission in life to help you find your sparkle, your light, your magic in a way that doesn’t leave you feeling like a failure when you’re not feeling all sparkly.

I believe there are 3 Sister Sacrements you must embrace in order to reclaim your radical authenticity.

  1. there is nothing wrong with you
  2. meaning matters
  3. your body holds the secret

What is a sacrament anyway?

The concept is ancient.

The Middle English word sacrement comes from from the Old French sacrement which comes from the Latin sacramentum a consecrating and from sacrare ‘to consecrate’ or ‘make sacred’ or give one’s ‘solemn oath.’ It is also used in Christian Latin as a translation of the Greek mustērion ‘mystery.’

The Anglican Book of Common Prayer defines a sacrament as “an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace given unto us…”

For our purposes here, think of it as the solemn oath to make the mysterious sacred.

No. 1 :: the first sacrament

The wound is the place where the Light enters you. ~ Rumi

There is nothing wrong with you.

The first this you need to do is embrace your wounds. Quit hiding from them, using them and resisting them. Your wounds are not a place where the light gets in, but the place where the light enters you. So much of the transformational work out there relies on the premise that there is something wrong with you. I am here to tell you the opposite. There is noting wrong with you.

You may not be perfect, but without your wounds, you can’t contain light. It’s that simple.

No. 2 :: the second sacrament

Don’t be satisfied with the stories of others. Unfold your own myth. ~ Rumi

Meaning Matters

There is a lot of life-coaching and spiritual practice out there that relies on the idea of releasing meaning, the idea that meaning bogs us down and keeps us from living our highest potential. There are lots of methods out there for controlling your thinking and keeping yourself in a spiritual state. The problem with this approach is that it breeds resistance especially in the rebellious amongst us (raise your hand if your just a tad rebellious!) and we need our revolutionaries to bring innovation. Two things happen when we try to control something:

  1. First, when we repress our wounded stories we have to repress all our stories even the ones wanting to come into being. Stories have been used for millennia for personal and collective healing. Dropping your stories isn’t an option if you want to be free.
  2. Second, when we resist something we actually create a reactive force pulling us toward the very thing we resist. We end up secretly bingeing and feeling exiled from our community of goodness.

No. 3 :: the third sacrament

You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. ~ Mary Oliver

Your body holds the secret

This is perhaps the most mysterious of the 3 Sister Sacraments. The body is the place where the invisible becomes visible. It is the threshold of your conscious mind and the immense and powerful realm of the unconscious. Science has finally caught up with shamanism, or at least it is now on its heels.

Somatic wisdom is real and your body is the sacred temple of universal and compassionate wisdom.

It is the threshold of sacred heart of the world and I am here to guide you into this forgotten realm of mystery and magic so that you can claim your birth right of authenticity and belonging.

If you haven’t done it yet, get started on your journey toward radical authenticity and belonging by finding your personal and unique key to the sacred heart of the world – your body. I will meet you there with more magic.
