The Indigena Project :: remembrace, recovery, restoration :: a residency
August 28, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - September 1, 2016 @ 2:00 pm UTC+0
| FreeThis residency is 4 day gathering for self-identified Indigenous girls, women and mothers who want to restore and revitalize their connection to ancestral ways and wisdom of birth and mothering. This is of particular interest to women who have lost connection with their lineage due to the colonial forces behind migration, hiding, adoption and denial – and who want to restore what has been broken for their children and ancestors.
We will gather and connect using the gentle tools of Indigenous storywork, laying-on the earth, community theater, dream work, appreciative inquiry, Somatic Experiencing, constellation ceremony, Myth Mending, Earth-Womb medicine, the mesoamerican sweat house (Temazcalli), Susto and Limpia (soul loss and spiritual cleansing) and trauma-driven performance protest – which we will present publicly or privately for the creative restoration of our people. Each participant will also receive 3 Myth Mending sessions that can be used before during or after the gathering.
Food and lodging (@Tierra Soul’s community retreat space) provided and we are hoping to raise money to help with travel costs for those coming from out of town. Our meals will be prepared with Indigeneity in mind and heart…
This is a traditional space that welcomes all ages. Bring your children, partners, grandmothers and friends. Get in touch if you have questions.
